Dr. Lindemann (also known as Rural Doc Alan) has developed a wide range of resources for women and their families about how to choose to have a safe pregnancy when access to their physicians is becoming more and more limited by corporate medicine. Dr. Lindemann encourages women to learn about the choices they have in creating the kind of pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum experience they want for themselves.

Online Courses

The maternal mortality rate in the U.S. is far higher than in any other developed country, and it is continuing to rise. Dr. Lindemann created this online course “How to Avoid Losing Your Life in Childbirth” to provide pregnant women the information they need to keep their pregnancy and delivery on a safe course.

One of the modules of the course “How to Do a C-Section,” is available separately. Even if you are planning for a natural birth, every pregnant woman may face circumstances which lead to a c-section. Dr. Lindemann wants woman to know what is involved in a c-section and how they can be done safely.

Books

Safe Pregnancy Explained: Three Steps to a Safer Pregnancy

This is a Kindle book available on Amazon. For example, there is information here on how to monitor your blood pressure at home and  when changes in your blood pressure are important to report to your doctor.

Modern Medicine: What You’re Dying to Know

This book explains five reasons healthcare costs have risen so astronomically in the U.S. These five factors have taken medical decisions out of the hands of physicians and given corporate administrators without medical degrees the power to deny patients care physicians believe they their patients need. The book was originally published in 1992, but was reprinted in 2020. What Dr. Lindemann describes in this book has come about in spades.

Modern Medicine is also available in a Kindle edition.

Substack

Dr. Lindemann posts on Substack about medical issues which fall outside the focus of safe pregnancy. Many of these issues are relevant to why healthcare in the U.S. is so expensive and how patients are denied access to the healthcare they need.
